Install Brand Threader as an App
Install Brand Threader on your phone, tablet, or desktop for an app-like experience. It opens in its own window with a home screen or dock icon, no browser tabs in the way.
Why Install?
Brand Threader is a Progressive Web App (PWA). It works in any modern browser, but installing it gives you:
- An app icon on your home screen, dock, or Start menu
- Full-screen mode without browser tabs or address bar
- Faster launch from your dock or home screen
- The same login, projects, and team data, in sync across all your devices
Installation is free and takes about 30 seconds.
Install From Inside the App
The fastest way to install on desktop:
- Open app.brandthreader.com in Chrome or Edge
- Sign in
- Look for the download icon in the top-right of the navigation bar (a downward arrow into a tray)
- Click it. Your browser will offer to install Brand Threader.
- Click Install to confirm.
If the download icon is not visible, your browser does not support PWA install (Safari on macOS does, see below) or you have already installed the app.
Install From Your Browser
iPhone or iPad (Safari)

- Tap the Share button (square with arrow, bottom of screen on iPhone, top of screen on iPad)

Brand Threader now appears as an app icon on your home screen.
Android (Chrome)

The app file lives in ~/Applications/Chrome Apps.localized/ if you want to find it directly.

- Click "Install" to confirm
The app will appear in your Start menu. Right-click the icon in the Start menu to pin it to the taskbar.
After Installing
Same login, everywhere. The installed app uses your existing Brand Threader account. All your projects, settings, and team data stay in sync. Sign in once on each device.
Updating the App
Brand Threader updates automatically the next time you open it. You do not need to reinstall after a release.
Uninstalling
iPhone or iPad: Press and hold the icon, then tap "Remove App".
Android: Press and hold the icon, then drag to "Uninstall".
macOS: Drag the app from Launchpad to the Trash, or delete it from ~/Applications/Chrome Apps.localized/.
Windows: Right-click the Start menu entry and choose "Uninstall".
Troubleshooting
I do not see the install icon in my browser address bar
Check:
- You are using Chrome, Edge, or Safari (Firefox does not support PWA install on desktop)
- You are signed in to Brand Threader
- You have not already installed the app on this browser profile
If still missing, try a hard refresh (Ctrl+Shift+R or Cmd+Shift+R) and look again after the page has fully loaded.
I cannot find the installed app on my Mac
Chrome PWAs install to ~/Applications/Chrome Apps.localized/, not the system /Applications folder. They appear in Launchpad and Spotlight.
To pin to the dock: launch the app from Launchpad, right-click the dock icon, and choose Options → Keep in Dock.
The installed app is showing an old version
Close and reopen the app fully (right-click the dock icon and choose Quit, then relaunch). The app updates on next launch.
If a problem persists, uninstall and reinstall.
